What we collect, why, and how to opt out

Effective July 12, 2026

guitar.care is an independent site run by a guitar player, not a media company. We collect as little as we can get away with, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t run ad networks that track you around the web. This page explains exactly what happens to the information you give us and the handful of services we rely on to run the site.

What we collect

Your email address, but only if you hand it to us by subscribing to the newsletter. That’s the one piece of personal information we store, and we store it because we need it to email you.

Anonymous usage data.We use privacy-friendly analytics to count page views and see which articles are useful. It doesn’t use tracking cookies and doesn’t build a profile of you or identify you personally.

We do notcollect names, phone numbers, or payment details on this site, and we don’t ask you to create an account.

How we use your email

To send you the newsletter — guitar maintenance articles, occasional notes about the guides — and nothing else. We don’t sell, rent, or share your address with anyone for their own marketing. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can leave any time you like. Reply to any issue and a real person reads it.

Services we rely on

Running the site means trusting a few outside companies with narrow slices of data. Each one handles it under its own privacy policy:

  • Vercel hosts the site and provides the anonymous page-view analytics described above.
  • Resend stores our newsletter list and delivers the emails. Your address lives here.
  • Lemon Squeezy handles checkout if you buy one of the paid guides. They process the payment and your billing details — we never see or store your card number.
  • Amazon receives a click when you follow one of our affiliate links, so any purchase can be credited to us (see below).

Affiliate links

Some product links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you, and adds a tag to the link so the sale is credited to us. It doesn’t change the price you pay, and it never decides what we recommend — read more about that on the About page.

Cookies

We don’t set advertising or tracking cookies. The services above may set essential cookies needed to load the site or complete a checkout, but we don’t use cookies to profile you or follow you across other websites.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email, which removes your address from our list. If you’d like us to confirm your data is gone, or you have any question about how we handle it, get in touch and we’ll sort it out.

Get in touch

The best way to reach us is to reply to any newsletter issue — replies land in a real inbox and get read. If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date at the top of the page.
